Q: How can I hit my goal of reading more this year?
A: Libraries are more useful than you might realize.
If you’re trying to read more in 2024, you’re not alone. But Amazon and Audible isn’t the only way to get books. There’s a good chance you’re overlooking some fantastic resources freely available at your fingertips: Your local library.
I’m a huge fan of my county’s public library system. They just built a brand new 62k SqFt. facility, but what I really use is Hoopla and Libby. These digital catalogs allow me to rent e-books to my kindle from my couch; or stream audiobooks on my smartphone with just a few taps.
If you want to save money and read more, check out some of the resources offered at your local library. Some library systems will even loan out “nontraditional” items like VR Goggles, Ukulele, Sowing Machine, or State Parks Pass.
Actionable Question: How will you make reaching your reading goal easier for yourself?

P.S. Did you know some counties don’t even require residency to take advantage of their online catalogs? So if your county doesn’t have what you’re looking for, you can get multiple library cards and search across several libraries at once.
