Radical Ownership

Q: What’s in my control to change?
A: Literally everything.

“Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing.”

-Laurie Buchanan

It’s an extreme position to take, but we have to admit at some level, anything we aren’t changing we are allowing to remain unchanged. Don’t get upset about what you tolerate.

That’s not to say you have the power to determine every outcome, but you have more power than you’ve been led to believe.

You can’t control the weather, but you can control the climate you live in.
You don’t get to control what others do around you, but you can control who is around you.
You aren’t able to tell your boss what to do, but you can find a new boss (new job).

You’re not a victim of your circumstances; you’re a recipient of the outcomes of your choices.

Actionable Question: What have I ignored as “unchangeable” but the truth is I have more control than I’ve realized?
