Why You Don’t Need Better Tools

Q: Which is more important the right tool or the right motivation?
A: The right motivation.

I canceled my gym membership over a year ago and now I’m in the best shape of my life.

For three years, I had gone to the gym with some regularity. Some months weren’t great, but for the most part I was working out 3x a week. And I saw very little results.

Back in December I determined to participate in a physical fitness challenge event this May. It’s a part of my goal to do something physically hard this year.

Already, only 45 days into my training, I have seen more significant results using body weight exercises and a pull-up bar, than the three years spent using all the equipment at the gym.

The reason has very little to do with the equipment and everything to do with my motivation.

Actionable Question:  Where have you over emphasized the need for tools and neglected a compelling motivation?

Get motivated,
Andrew Nemeth
