Great Man Theory

Q: What difference can one person make?
A: One person could change the world.

Often, we belittle our potential and assume that the world is too large and the problem too big for us to make a meaningful change. But historian and philosopher Thomas Carlyle famously stated, “The history of the world is but the Biography of great men,”

He believed that all the major events that shaped history were at the hands of a few individuals.

Lots of other smart people have argued against this view; but it’s interesting to think about. How would history be different without Hitler, Napoleon, Nero, Columbus, Washington, Marx?

Actionable Question:  Where should my impact be greater?

Be great,
